Age 82, passed away at University Hospital in Madison on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, with his family around him. He was born in Navarino, on March 27, 1924, son of the late Earl Sr. and Ida (Sheid) Blink. Mainard was a 1943 graduate of New London High School. He served his country in the Army Air Force. He married Merle Bessette on July 19, 1947. She preceded him in death on December 17, 1971. He then married Helen Johnson of Winneconne on January 21, 1977. For many years he worked as a foreman at Miles Lumber Company. He worked as a bartender at Friendly Bar tavern in New London for many years and also at Hennes Construction until retirement.

He is survived by his wife Helen; 12 children: Gerald (Bonnie) Blink, Hortonville; Charles (Linda) Blink, New London; Sharon (Craig) Wesley, Tigerton; Jean (Dave) Doede, Weyauwega; Jo Anne (Tom) Carelli, New London, Mainard Jr. Blink, New London; Debbie (Pat) Doyle, Neenah; Cindy Lyons, AZ; Joyce (Chuck) Drephal, Appleton; Gorden Blink, Oshkosh, Donald (Betty) Blink, Waupaca; Dawn Voelhel, Oshkosh. Five stepchildren: Rose Mary (Melvin) Niemuth, New London; Lee (Jo) Bassette, Winneconne; Ruth O'Bright, Neenah, Jan Bergman, New London, Jack (Kim) FranCar, Winneconne. A brother Earl (Elaine) Blink. 43 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren. Also surviving Mainard are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents and first wife, Mainard is preceded in death by a sister Eloise Learman, a brother Duwaine Blink, step mother Mildred and a granddaughter Alexis O'Bright.

A Tribute to a Veteran Service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne. A Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the Veteran service. Cremation will follow.
