Alfredo (Al) Francis Riojas was a caring father, life partner, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He left this world suddenly on February 26, 2022. He was born in Reynosa, Mexico on April 27, 1937, to Rosendo and Mercedes Riojas.

He grew up in Edinburg, Texas until the age of 16, and then moved to Hortonville, WI. He went to school to be a mechanic and welder. For the majority of his life, he worked for Allis-Chalmers and Lunda construction. He was an avid welder making trailers and other items for sale. Al enjoyed country music, dancing, meeting new friends, traveling, playing cribbage, and being around loved ones. On January 27, 1957, he married Shirley Peebles. They shared two daughters, Victoria Rojas and Cindy (Jim) Walter.

Mr. Riojas was preceded in death by his parents, Rosendo and Mercedes Riojas, brother Juan Riojas, sisters Justa Moreno and Alicia Maurico.

He is survived by his loving life partner Mary Beth Laux of Appleton, WI, special friend Beth Laux, loving children Victoria Rojas of Kaukauna, WI and Cindy (Jim) Walter of Raleigh, NC, grandchildren Brittany (Josh) Moe of Menasha, WI, Alexis Walter of Wilmington, NC, Shanna Bartels of Appleton, WI, Austin Walter of Raleigh, NC, and great-grandchildren Grayson and Zion Moe; brothers Celestino Riojas, Rosendo Riojas Jr., Rogelio Riojas, Guadalupe Riojas and Reynaldo Riojas; sisters Irene Salinas, Yolanda Guzman and Elva Aleman all of Texas; also many loving, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank the special care of Dr. Johnston-Rickert, staff of Fresenius Dialysis Center, Anticoagulation Clinic, and St. Elizabeth Hospital.

The celebration of life will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on March 26, 2022, at Borchardt Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville.
