Ann L. (Furminger) Schneider of Hortonville, formerly of Appleton, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025. Ann was born in Appleton on April 25, 1931 to the late Cecil and Clara (Becker) Furminger. After graduating from Appleton High School with the class of 1949, she attended Oshkosh Business for a year, receiving a Private Secretary Degree. Ann worked for the Appleton Park Department as Deputy Secretary for one year. She then took a job at the Institute of Paper Chemistry, where for six years; she held the position of Office Secretary for the Sulphite Pulp Research League.

Ann married Robert C. Schneider on April 14, 1956, and together, they made their home in Hortonville. She was a member of the 1st Congregation United Church of Christ in New London. She was also a 65+ year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, holding positions over the years of past President and Chaplin.

Ann spent 20 years as a trail guide for the fourth-grade program of Mosquito Hill Nature Center, a job she enjoyed very much. She and friend, Eleanor Brenneke, were the first editors of the nature center bulletin "A View from the Hill". She also was a Jury Commissioner for Outagamie Court system for four years. She served on the Board of St. Joseph's Nursing Home for 20 years, and was on their building committee, which built several additions to St. Joes. Ann was a charter member of the Hortonville Junior Woman's Club and a member of Jobs Daughters in her high school years. Robert and his family owned Schneider Feed Mill and Ann spent time helping with office work after Robert's father passed away.

Ann enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. She loved walking seashores and collected many shells. Ann and Bob enjoyed traveling, taking driving trips around the United States while their boys were growing up, and then to different Caribbean Islands, Mexico, Central America, Europe, Scandinavia, Canada, Greenland, and Iceland.

Ann is survived by her sons, Garth (Diane) Schneider and Reed (Beth) Schneider; grandchildren, Ian Schneider (Samantha); Ryker (Hannah) Schneider, Avery Schneider, Rob and Jen Friebel, Kay and Ryan Myers, Andrew Schneider (Courtney); and Benjamin (Maggie) Schneider. She is further survived by ten great-grandchildren, Calvin, Mabel, Lucy and Zoe Schneider, Mikaiah, Matthew and Morgan Friebel, Simon Schneider, Charlotte and Kaylyn Myers.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband Robert Schneider and parents, Cecil and Clara Furminger.

A Celebration of Ann's life will be on Thursday, Oct 2, 2025 at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville.  Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00.  The service is from 11:00 until noon.  There will be a brief internment ceremony at the Hortonville Union Cemetery.

The family asks that all memorials be designated to the American Legion Auxiliary – Unit 55.
