Anthony (“Tony”) William Budwit of New London, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born on August 31, 1940, Tony was the son of Anthony (“Tony”) and Dorothy (Schmidt) Budwit. He graduated from New London Senior High School in 1958. Tony served in the United States Army Reserve and was honorably discharged in August 1969. He married Doris Buckarma on February 18, 1967, and they were together for 29 years.

Tony worked for Don Bennett’s Sports Cars in Hortonville, Wisconsin before working at Jerry’s Auto Sales in Medina, Wisconsin as an Auto Body Mechanic, restoring the exterior of vehicles damaged by collisions or other wear and tear, retiring after 45 years.

He enjoyed stock car racing, driving his 1966 Chevelle Malibu, mentoring children in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, and volunteering in the STEP program for the New London School District.

Tony is survived by his children, LeAnn (John) Rafac, Lori (Heath) Mischke, Mark (Jodi) Budwit; his grandchildren, Noah Rafac, and Caroline, Alex and Catherine Budwit; his nephews, Dick, Kevin, Bruce and Tim Lohrenz; and special friend Fred Dahms.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Dorothy; his sister and brother-in-law Donna and Bob Lohrenz; his son Brian Budwit; and his fur kid Snooky (which he often referred to as “Daddy’s Girl”).

The family would like to give a special thanks to his close friends Nathan and Kayla O’Bright and their kids, Cooper and Brinlee, who took such good care of him his last years. We will be forever grateful for their help and support.

Private burial for family and friends will take place at Floral Hill Cemetery. Tony’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
