Arnold "Arnie" J. Nienhaus, age 78 of New London, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. Arnie was born on July 2, 1947 in Appleton to the late Arnold J. and Lillian (Verbeten) Nienhaus. He graduated from New London High School with the Class of 1966.  Arnie served his country in the US Army from 1966-1969 as an engineer supply specialist.  On May 9, 1970, he married Mary Crain at St. Patrick Catholic Church in the Town of Lebanon. He worked at Pierce Manufacturing for 42 years.  Arnie loved deer hunting and spending quality time on the fishing raft. He was an expert rod and reel repairman. Over the years, Arnie played golf, softball and lots of cards with family and friends.  Attending his grandchildren's sporting events was something he enjoyed the most. He will be missed by the Wednesday Night Waters group!

Arnie is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Lisa (Joe) Webb, Jeff (Molly) Nienhaus, Pete (Shauna) Nienhaus and Ben (Sarah) Nienhaus; grandchildren, Hannah, Hailey, Maddy, Tanner, Reilly, Audrey, Grace, Troy and Grady; siblings, Frank (Sheila) Nienhaus, Judy (Bill) Moeller and Rick (Marsha) Nienhaus and brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim Crain, Betty (Paul) Steingraber, Dave (Chris) Crain, Tom (Dawn) Crain, Barb (Jim) St. Marie, Jean (Brian) Palmer and Jerry (Kevin) Crain; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Arnie was preceded in death by his brother, Tom; sister-in-law, Dorothy Nienhaus; father and mother in-law, Don and Marie Crain; step-father, Larry Ruckdashel and sister-in-law, Sherry Crain.

The Funeral Mass for Arnie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in the Town of Lebanon with Fr. Dave Hoffman officiating.  The visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London and again on Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
