Barbara Manteufel's Funeral Service Video

Barbara Ann Manteufel, age 81, of Seymour, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully, with her loved ones by her side, on Friday, March 1, 2024. Barbara, the only daughter of the late Gordon and Alma (Barkow) Van Ornum was born in Clintonville on March 20, 1942. She graduated from Clintonville High School, and when she was 29 years old, she married Dale Manteufel on August 7, 1971. Barbara and Dale enjoyed 50 wonderful years together before his passing in 2021.

Barbara worked as a custodian for Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville for over 35 years, where she was a longtime, faithful member. Barbara was a Christian servant to God, to her family, and to her church. For a short time, in her early years, she worked at the Hortonville Toy Factory. Through a co-worker, she was set up on a blind date with Dale.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Diane (Scott) Nagy, and Betsy Manteufel; her grandchildren, Emily (Bucky) Manteufel, Evan Nagy, Emma Nagy, Autumn Manos; and great-grandson, August; and her sister-in-law, Joan Van Ornum; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Alma; and her brother, Gordon.

The Funeral Service for Barbara will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville, with Rev. Kevin Westra officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville and again at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Town of Clayton Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Good Shepherd Nursing Home for their love and care they gave to Barbara.

A Memorial Fund has been established for Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
