Barbara Olk's Funeral Mass Video

Barbara M. Olk, age 86, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022.  She was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan on December 13, 1935, the daughter of the late Leo and Jean (Friestrom) Weiss.  Barbara proudly served her country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps on July 15, 1954, and was honorably discharged on July 14, 1957, as a sergeant.  On September 30, 1961, she was united in marriage to Vincent Olk at St. Joe's Church, Appleton.  He preceded her in death in 1994.  Following her retirement from the services Barb worked for the City of Appleton, Prange's Department Store and later Yonkers. She was a long-time member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Hortonville and was a member of the Christian Mothers and Junior Women.

Barbara is survived by her children: Mary (Tom) Engel, Jane (James) Becher, Donna (John) Gretzinger, Theresa (Lance) Kamenick, and Jeff (Traci) Olk; grandchildren Kelly (Chad) Denowski, Jessica (Brian) Johnson, Brett Engel, Ashley (Chris) Engel, Nick (Clara) Becher, Emily Becher, Alex Becher, Noah Kamenick, Seth Kamenick, Aiden Kamenick, Zach Schneider (fiancée Emma), and Autum Olk; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Alyse, and a third great-granddaughter on the way. Brothers and sisters: Jeanne (Joe) Jankowski, Judy (James) Swiecichowski, Karen (Steve) Brown-Weiss, Michelle Virnig and Mark (Anne) Weiss, sister-in-laws Diana Weiss, June Olk, and Joan Dockter.  She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings David Weiss, Pam (Bill) Beschta, and in-laws Phillip Virnig, Charles Olk, Rosemary (Paul) Kruel, Loretta (Gordon) Allen, and Clifford Dockter

A funeral mass for Barbara will be held at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Hortonville on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Phil Schoofs officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass.  Burial will be in the SS Peter & Paul Cemetery Hortonville.
