Barbara Ann Van Straten (Pelky), age 86, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Brewster Village surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Deer Creek, Wisconsin on August 24, 1938 to the late Arthur and Edna (Monty) Pelky. Barbara devoted her life to raising her nine children and enjoying time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her eight children, David, Duane (Donna), Debbie Johnson (special friend, Kevin), Dennis, Dawn (Kevin) Nelson, Dale, Donna (Gary) Paul, Jr., Dustin (Tami) and daughter-in-law, Vicki Van Straten. She is further survived by 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, her former husband, Carl Van Straten, and many beloved nieces & nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Edna; son, Darrel Van Straten; sister, Norma (Floyd) Grode; brothers, Milton, Duaine (Pat), and Harold (Shirley).

The Funeral Service for Barbara will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton, Wisconsin with Fr. David Greskowiak officiating. The Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
