Betty Collar Funeral Service Video
Betty Jean (Troiber) Collar, age 91, of Shiocton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, with family by her side. Betty was born in Shiocton on November 24, 1933 to the late Joseph C. and Lydia M. (Tyler) Troiber. She married the late Herman E. Collar and together they had seven children. Herman was laid to rest in 1983.
Betty worked for 27 years at Hortonville Manufacturing, but she always said that the best place she ever worked was at Walmart in Grand Chute, where she retired from in 2013 after 19 years of service. Her co-workers at Walmart were just like family to her. Betty was a Green Bay Packer fan through and through, win or lose. They were her team!
Betty is survived by her children, Karen Massey of Appleton, Jim (Cathy) Collar of Minnesota, John (Mary) Collar of Black Creek, Bill (Sue) Collar of Shiocton, Jane (Lee) Potter of Shiocton, Tim (Mary) Collar of Shiocton, and Diane (Robert) Henson of Colorado. She is further survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Bonnie Troiber of Appleton; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lydia; her husband Herman; her brother, Joseph C. Troiber, Jr.; her grandson, Scott Massey; her son-in-law, Lee Potter; and many close friends, Aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The Funeral Service for Betty will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Shiocton, Wisconsin, with Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiating. The visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Bovina.
The family would like to thank ThedaCare Wound Care, Primary Care and staff, Dr. Felix Odathil, and ThedaCare Hospice for the compassionate care given to Betty.
