Betty Jane Peterson passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Saturday, July 26, 2026, at the age of 95. She was born on August 19, 1930, in Kaukauna, Wisconsin to the late Arnold and Mary (Vanden Heuvel) Jensen. Betty married Arden Peterson on December 26, 1952 in Dubuque, Iowa. Together they raised a family, first at Rickers Bay, Neenah, before settling down at the farm in the Town of Ellington in June of 1957. She enjoyed her chickens and gardening, but admitted that “you couldn’t take the city girl” out of her. After 57 years of farm life Betty moved to Ridgeview Highlands Apartments and enjoyed 10 years of playing cards with the ladies. Betty spent the last few years at Renaissance Assisted Living where the staff treated her like family.

Betty is survived by her children, Guy (Sharon) Peterson, Peggy Peterson, John (Bonnie) Peterson, Jim Peterson, Judy Weiland, and Lori (Larry) Peterson. She also leaves behind her youngest sibling, Floyd Jensen of Salem, MO; as well as ten grandchildren, Shannon, Amanda, Rachel, Erik, Cheryl, Kimberley, Jesse, Bridget, Valerie, and Laura. Also carrying on her legacy are 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Those passing before Betty are her husband, Arden; grandson, Craig; and her siblings, Leo, June Rogers, Infant Violet, Delores Conboy, Eugene, Merlyn, Earl, and Kenneth.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Cemetery, 8396 Steeple Hill Dr. in Winchester, Wisconsin.
