Beverley M. Hanadel, age 90, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family after a long illness on Monday, February 28, 2022.  She was born September 18, 1931, in New London daughter of Earl and Margaret (Huebner) Herter.  Beverley graduated from New London Senior High School in 1949. She then attended nursing school at St. Mary's Nursing School in Wausau, where she met Joseph, who was in the Air Force stationed in Antigo.  They married on November 27, 1952, and celebrated their 68 th wedding anniversary 3 days prior to Joseph's death on 11/30/2020.  She worked as an RN in numerous positions at the then New London Community Hospital from 1958-1996.

In her early retirement years, she and Joseph enjoyed going to their mobile home outside of Crivitz, WI for the peace and quiet it brought them.  When they could, the children and grandchildren would join them.  They loved "taking a ride" which meant going to the casino.  And for many years, they went as often as they could. Beverley also had gone to Las Vegas numerous times.  Prior to her illness, she enjoyed reading, drawing, watching TV, and doing Word Find puzzle books.

Beverley is survived by 9 children: Cheryl Gabriel, Stephen (Mary) Hanadel, Cathy (Jeff) Besaw, Becky (David) Flanagan, Diane (Rich) Fabisiak, Lori Ward, JoAnn (Rick) Danke, Scott (Mary) Hanadel, and Kristen Stichman. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a few step-grandchildren; 2 sisters Shirley Claassen, and Charlene (Jerry) Magolski; a brother Dennis Herter; brother-in-law Edward Hanadel (special friend David Gula), nieces, and nephews.

Preceding her in death were husband Joseph, her parents, mother and father-in-law; 2 younger brothers Jeffery and Terry; son-in-law, Bryant Ward, 3 sisters-in-law, and a brother-in-law.

The family wishes to thank the Compassus Hospice staff for the wonderful care and support they had given Beverley and her family for the past 2 ½ years.  Most recently, Katelyn RN, Soni LPN, and Stacey, Nursing Assistant.  Also, a big thank you and love to her 2 caregivers, Gladys Niemuth and Pat Gray, who helped care for her so she could stay at home.

The funeral service for Beverley will be held at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. with Lee Besaw officiating. The Wisconsin Nurses Honor Guard will be present to honor Beverley's service in nursing. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service.  Burial will be in the Northport Ostrander Cemetery, Town of Mukwa at a later date.
