A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Bill and Virginia's house- N1369 CTY RD W, Fremont, WI 54940 starting at 12:00 noon.  A prayer service will take place at 1:00 p.m. followed by full military honors.

William "Bill" R. Bishop Sr., age 76, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, surrounded by his loving family in the home they built.  He was born on July 24, 1946, in Chicago, IL, son of the late Jacob and Phyllis (Krajeck) Bishop.   Bill graduated from Steinmetz High School and attended Wright Junior College in Chicago, IL.  He served his country in the US Army as an expert marksman.  On May 17, 1969, Bill was united in marriage to Virginia Kowal in Chicago.   He started out his career as a police officer in Chicago, IL, then Crystal Lake, IL, and became Chief of Police in Oakwood Hills, IL.  After retiring from police work he opened a landscaping business, Bishop & Son Landscaping and won many landscaping awards.  Bill fulfilled his long-time dream of owning hunting property in Wisconsin. He also enjoyed going to the casino with his family.  He had so much pride and love for his family, they meant everything to him.

Bill is survived by his wife Virginia; children, William "Bill" R. Bishop Jr. (Terri) and Christy Marie Freund (Mark);  grandchildren, Jesse W. Daves and William "Billy" J. Bishop.  He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son Wess Robert Bishop, parents, two brothers Richard Bishop and Jake Bishop.
