Blohowiak

Bonnie Blohowiak's Funeral Mass Video
Bonnie Lucille (Herrmann) Blohowiak, age 82, of New London - a devoted wife, loving mother, exceptional grandmother, beloved sister, daughter of the late Joseph and Bernice (Lorenz) Herrmann and blessed child of God - passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at St Joseph Residence in New London, WI.
Bonnie was born in Manitowoc, WI on April 19, 1941. She faked her way through grade school band on the saxophone at St. Annes Catholic School in Francis Creek and attended Mishicot High School where she twirled the heck out of a few batons. On May 22, 1965, she married Ralph Blohowiak, son of the late Francis and Katherine (Koslowski) Blohowiak, and they began their life together.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Ralph; sons: Randall, the tallest (Kimberly) Blohowiak, Robert, the favorite (Mary) Blohowiak and Scott, the baby (Christa) Blohowiak; grandchildren: Pierce, Reagan, Noah, Jonah, Fin, Ally, Elijah and Eden; and her siblings: Jack (Jane) Herrmann and Sharon (Dick) Kornely.
Bonnie had no biological daughters but was blessed with daughters-in-law that surpassed all of her expectations. Kimberly, the tallest, Mary, the favorite and Christa, the baby, were treated to girls lunches, marital advice, shopping trips and so much LOVE.
Bonnie loved food. She loved eating it, making and baking it. Juicy steak, baked chicken, grandma's spaghetti, chili, chicken soup, veggies with lots of butter and salt, grind up meat, peanut squares, raspberry torte, date cake, Mrs. Field's cookies, chocolate chip cookies, no bakes ---Hungry yet? I'll fix that with some of Ralph's favorites like boiled dinner, pea soup, smoked chubs and sauerkraut and spare ribs. She made it all with love and much tasting along the way to make sure it was just right.
Bonnie worked at Kingsbury Brewery, a brewmaster, High Cliff Supper Club, banquet manager, Kohl's Department store, a fashionista, and Manawa Dental office, a dentist. She worked so that she could shop for sweater sets and flowers and spend money on her most prized possessions, her grandchildren.
Bonnie was a fantastic mother but she was born to be a grandmother. When Ally was born, she found her true calling, and the grandchildren just kept coming. Bonnie played on the floor, she colored, never out of the lines, and she played uno, candy land, chutes and ladders and Go Fish. Grandma attended every event; concerts, musicals, ballet, dance recitals and competitions, baseball games, football games, track meets, first communion, confirmation, piano recitals and much more. Win or lose, in tune or out of tune, too long or just a minute or two, rain or shine, she and grandpa were there with smiles on their faces and love in their hearts. Grandma never came empty handed. A Starbucks card, a hot wheels car or a pair of earrings, all were given a "prize" to remember grandma's love.
Finally, Bonnie had a special devotion to Mary, our Immaculate Mother, and his son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Battling cancer is a difficult task, but Bonnie was blessed with grace and strength, love of family and a deep spiritual thirst that can only be quenched by the most precious blood of Jesus.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at St Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Greenville, Wisconsin from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. A funeral mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by an interment service. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask you to consider a donation to St Jude Children's Hospital, Make a donation to cure childhood cancer - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) . Bonnie was a monthly supporter of this worthy cause.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Cancer Center at Theda Care, St Joseph Residence and Trinity Terrace and Compassus Hospice Care for their compassionate and professional care, as well as Fr. Michael Warden and Fr. John Kleinschmidt for their spiritual council and guidance.
