Candace Bauer's Funeral Service Video
Candace Jean Bauer, 79, of New London, Wisconsin passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Candace was born in Fremont, Wisconsin on September 29, 1944 to the late Russell and Neva (Kramer) Wohlt. She married James "Skip" Bauer on May 18, 1963. Together, they had two children, Michele and Peter, and their little family was complete. Candace was a stay at home mom, a "house wife", raising their children and loving every minute of it. She was always sewing and quilting and could usually be found at craft shows in the fall, with her quilted wall hangings, dolls, Santa's and snowmen. Candace enjoyed almost 33 years with Skip. She was a caregiver at heart, taking care of Skip, especially during the last three years, until his passing in 1996. She then took care of both her mother and father until their passings.
Candace will be deeply missed by her children, Michele (Robert) Nutter and Peter (Sara) Bauer; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Scott) Warren, Sara Nutter, Kim (Jake) Wierl, Joe (Joleen) Nutter, Katie (Adam) Dobbert; great-grandchildren, Kalisa, Keenin, Aspen, Benjamin, Maggie and Grace; and her sister, Christine Schmies and special friend Larry.
Candace was preceded in death by her loving husband, James "Skip", and her parents, Russell and Neva.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at ThedaCare Appleton for the compassionate care they gave Candace during her final days and also Stephanie and Sara, who are truly angels for taking care of their grandmother, which allowed her to stay in her own home for as long as she did.
The Funeral Service for Candace will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London, with Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Wolf River Cemetery in Fremont, Wisconsin.
