Carl Gloede III Memorial Service Video

Carl Frederick William Gloede III, age 92 of New London, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at his home.  Carl was born on July 13, 1930 in Waupaca to the late Carl and Lillian (Gyrion) Gloede II.  He graduated from Appleton High School West, Outagamie County Teacher's College and also UW Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science and Master's Degree.  Carl was united in marriage to Janet Elaine Saylor on July 16, 1955 in Whiting, Indiana.  Carl taught at many schools - Gillingham Rural School, Neenah, Black Creek State Graded, Black Creek, Co-Vice Principal at John Gerrits Junior High, Kimberly, Principal at Shiocton Grade and Middle School, 7 th & 8 th grade science teacher at Emanuel Lutheran School, New London and temporary High School Principal, Shiocton.  He was a former basketball coach and youth director at Black Creek Grade and a basketball coach, golf coach and youth director at Kimberly and a volleyball referee state wide.  Carl was a faithful member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, where he served on the Board of Elders, Board of Finance, salary committee, Emanuel School Board.  Carl was a member of National Principal Association, Board member of Cooperative Education Service Agency 6, New London Family Medical Center, past president of National Mutual Benefit Branch 882 Shiocton, New London School District Strategic Planning Committee, Parent Advisory Board, New London School Board (12 years), Chairman of New London Neighborhood Watch, member of Fraternal Board of National Mutual Benefit Insurance Company, member of Appleton High School Class 1950 Reunion Committee, former member of Shiocton Lions Club, Shiocton Community Club and Shiocton Business Men's League.

Carl is survived by his wife, Janet; daughters, Julie (Richard) Lohrenz, Tamie (Paul) Neilson and Carrie (William) Gorges; sons, Carl F. W. (Denise) Gloede IV and John (Barbara) Gloede; Godson, Michael Gloede; grandchildren, Lynn (Justin) Eugate, Amy (Rusty) Wendlandt, Kristopher Gorges, Nichol (Karl) Luedtke, Cassie Lohrenz, Megan (Vince) Lohrenz, Carl F. W. (Haley) Gloede V, Ashley Jackson (Cory Knapp), Clarice Gloede (Mariah Mallek), Kyle Gloede and Aaron (Kirsten) Gloede; great-grandchildren, Emily Siebert, Evelyn, Eleanore and Gus Eugate and Kennedy and Isabelle Wendlandt, Cameron and Macin Gorges, Reece and Korban Luedtke, Harper and William Gloede and Karl F. W. Gloede VI; step-great-grandson, Dallas Turk; sisters-in-law, Paula Hill and Diane Saylor and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beatrice Gloede; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy (Howard) Janzen; brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence (Joan) Gloede; brothers-in-law, Ted Hill, Robert E. Saylor and Donald Saylor.

The Memorial Service for Carl will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. William Heiges officiating.  The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Burial will be in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New London at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, an educational scholarship will be started in Carl's name.

The family wishes to extend a thank you to Heartland Hospice for the loving care and concern given to Carl and family.
