Carlton L. Heideman, age 89 of New London, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023.  Carlton was born in Shiocton on March 28, 1934 oldest of three children of John and Evelyn (Rouseau) Heideman.  Carlton attended and graduated from Shiocton High with the Class of 1952.  In 1953, he married Josephine A. Balthazor in Bear Creek, WI.  She preceded him in death in 1989.  In 1991, Carlton married Twila Beyer. She preceded him in death 2021.  For most of Carlton's life he was a cabinet maker, though he worked various jobs along the way. In 1977, he started his own cabinetry business in New London.  He ran that business until his retirement in 1997.   Carlton was an avid hunter of upland game birds. He and his brother-in-law, Keith, were very close and best hunting buddies.  Carlton and Keith, with their families, enjoyed many activities, especially camping. He enjoyed travelling, mostly out west.  Carlton also loved time spent with his grandchildren.

Surviving Carlton are his children, James (Amy) Heideman and their children, Jeremy (Sarah) Heideman, Michelle (Chris) Robley and Daniel Heideman (fiancé, Tracy); Michael (Suzanne) Heideman and their children, Vanessa (Matt) Lemke, Christopher (Jennifer) Heideman and Jacob Heideman (Amber); Mary (Garry) Mathewson and their children, Brad (Laura) Mathewson, Melissa (Andrew) Lehner and Eric (Kim) Mathewson; as well as 21 great-grandchildren.  Further survivors include his step-children, Deborah (Richard) Drath, Ronald (Nancy) Beyer, Ann (Brian) Van Straten, Sally Beyer and Brenda (Bart) Rosenow and siblings, Jack (Doris) Heideman and Christine Heideman.

Carlton was preceded in death by his parents; his two wives and step-son, Ralph Beyer.

The funeral service for Carlton will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London with Pastor Michael Isbill officiating.  The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Burial will be in Most Precious Blood Cemetery, New London.
