Carol Joy
Hanson
December 17, 1956 – April 25, 2026
Carol Joy Hanson passed away peacefully on April 25th 2026 in the care of Care Partners Assisted Living in Hortonville WI.
Carol was born to George E. Hanson Jr and Barbara Anderson-Hanson on December 17th, 1956 in Elgin, Illinois.
Carol fondly talked about her time as a trumpeter in the Waupaca High School Band, even marching in the hot uniforms during summer parades. She participated in church mission trips to Guatemala and loved to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to whosoever would take the time to hear. She enjoyed many interests throughout her life such as fishing, (but she wouldn’t ever clean them), leather work, beading, painting sun-catchers for others and to brighten up her room. She even learned to crochet a blanket in her favorite colors that mimicked a sunburst. Recently Carol took a passion for diamond art painting. Of course in honor of her trips to Disneyland with her Father her room was filled with Disney everything from bedding to figurines, especially of her favorite dwarf “Dopey”.
Carol is survived by her Brother: Ronald (Linda) Hanson, Nephew Scott (Kristen) Hanson, Niece Kayla (Jason) Stalter and special friends and Pastors Brian & Ginna Kubinski and their children Josh Kubinski & Justis & Randy Zietlow family, Logan, Braydon with special mention to Jonathan Zietlow who was Carol’s pen-pal.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and older sister Gweneth Hanson.
Carol will was to be cremated and her ashes buried in the family plots near her parents and sister. There will be an intimate family gathering and prayer at graveside in Waupaca on Monday, May 4, 2026 at 2:30p.m.
We would like to thank Dr. Steven Goedderz and staff at Ascension Clinic in New London for all the wonderful care and attention they gave to Carol throughout these many years, even during her “drop in social visits”.
