Carole J. Hungerford, age 85, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, surrounded by her family.  She was born on August 25, 1936, daughter of the late Lyle and Mary (Eisch) Riehl.  On June 5, 1954, she was united in marriage to Richard Hungerford; he preceded her in death in 2000.  Carole worked at Hillshire Farms (Tyson) for 18 years; then worked at Sam's Club and Goodwill.  She owned and operated Sportsman's Bar in Shiocton for 25 years.  Carole loved playing cards with her friend Karen Euhardy.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Shiocton – active in the Poppy Drive and volunteered at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.

Carole is survived by her children: Cindy Hungerford, Wanda (Carl) Van Grinsven, Kurt (Debbie) Hungerford, Randy Hungerford, and Todd (Liz) Hungerford; grandchildren: Tracy, Derek, Jenny, Jeremy, Zack, Abby, Mathew, Chelsi, Wyatt, Weston, Harrison, Joseph, Olivia, Sophie, Morgan, Sawyer, and Delaney; great-grandchildren: Jenna, Jesse, Giovanny, Jenson, Seth, Davis, Oliver, Parker, Reggie, Audrey and Anna; her brother Larry (Sue) Riehl; sisters-in-law Sandy Riehl, Stella Hungerford and Donna Hungerford and brothers-in-law, Donnie Hungerford and Dave (Barb) Hungerford. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Sally (Dennis) Kruzicki; granddaughter, Diana Kruzicki; brother Duane; sister Shirley; sister in-law Julia Weasner, and numerous brothers-in-law.

Funeral services for Carole will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. William Heiges officiating.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will be in the Bovina Cemetery, Shiocton.
