Caroline's Funeral Service Video

Caroline Laabs, age 87, of Hortonville, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Caroline was born on May 18, 1936 in the Town of Clayton, to the late Erwin and Caroline (Schneider) Dorow. She graduated from New London High School in 1954 and she married her sweetheart, Dennis Laabs, in Dale, Wisconsin on June 30, 1955.

Caroline enjoyed cooking, polka dancing, cake decorating and reading the paper, but she especially loved gardening and spending time with her husband, family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Caroline was a homemaker, a hard working farmer's wife and a mother of five children, Brenda, Randal, Delroy, Darnel and Rhonda. She had great faith in God and was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dale and served the church on numerous committees.

Caroline is survived by her husband, Dennis; four of her children, Randal (Lori) Laabs, Delroy (Bev) Laabs, Darnel (Janette) Laabs and Rhonda (Jeff) Meyer; her fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters, Velma (Dale) Stofferahn and Violet Litton; brother, Leroy (Sally) Dorow; sister in-laws, Edith Dorow, Winnifred Laabs, Marion Laabs and Jan Laabs.

Caroline was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda; her parents, Erwin and Caroline Dorow;  mother in-law and father in-law, Robert and Agnes Laabs; brothers, Lawrence Dorow, Ralph (Elaine) Dorow and Erwin Jr. (Janet) Dorow; brother in-laws, Dorman Litton and Melvin (Nona) Laabs,  Gilbert Laabs, Willard Laabs and Donald Laabs.

The funeral service for Caroline will be at 11:00am on Monday, June 26, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dale, Wisconsin with Rev. Paul Ibisch officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00am until the time of service. Private internment will be in the Dale Union Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the medical staff and hospice team at ThedaCare New London and Appleton.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
