Cathy Grode's Funeral Mass Video

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our sweet sister, Cathy Susan Grode, on Saturday, November 2, 2024. She was welcomed into heaven by her beloved parents, Norma (Pelky) and Floyd Grode, who she missed dearly the last four years. Cathy was born on July 25, 1957 in New London, Wisconsin. She was diagnosed with cerebral palsy shortly after birth, however, that did not stop her! She attended special education classes while growing up at Morgan Schools in Appleton. She was at Northern Center in Chippewa Falls for 25 years, then came back to the area until she moved to Brewster Village in 2020. Cathy was a happy-go-lucky girl who always loved company. She was a dedicated Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan who also loved Little House on the Prairie, The Golden Girls, Harry Potter, and Country Music.

Cathy is survived by her sisters; Lynn Bellile, Lori (Randy) Warning, Kim (Mark) Wunderlich, and Kay (Bob) Setterman. Nieces and nephews; Jeremy (Angela) Bellile, Brad (Amy Ryan) Bellile, Tim (Michelle) Bellile, Brittany (Travis) Jack, Brooke (Tim) Jack, Brenna (Spencer) Jack, Dan (Mackenzie) Wunderlich, and Jon (Jordan) Wunderlich. Great nieces and nephews; Brayden, Hannah, Conner, Claire, Sage, Lukas, Levi, Garrett, Nora, Nate, Kendall, Konnor, Leighton, and Landon. Her aunts; Judy Pelky, Barbara Van Straten, and Lois Grode. Her uncle, Raymond Nussbaum, and many cousins, family, and friends.

Preceding Cathy in death were, her parents; her grandparents, Willard & Aurelia Grode and Art & Edna Pelky; her aunts and uncles, Audrey Nussbaum, Roger & Judy Grode, Myron Grode, René Grode, Milton (Cub) Pelky, Harry & Shirley Pelky, and Duaine (Unk) & Pat Pelky.

Many thanks to Dr. Rod Hubert, Briana, & staff; Dale - Sunday driver and Tina; Dr. Keta and staff with Little Critters Dentistry; Fox Valley Surgical Associates, TC – Appleton 5th floor, and the ICU staff for all your special loving care of Cathy. Also, thanks to Fr. Phil Schoofs, Saints Peter & Paul Parish Community, and Fr. Jim Jungenheimer for all of your prayers the last few days. She loved her beautiful blanket!

We also wish to send a huge thank you to Brewster Village (The Mills) staff, especially her very special caregiver, Nicole, who went above and beyond every day for Cathy. She loved you, Nicole!

Up until the very end on Saturday Cathy kept her sisters on their toes, letting them know she was in charge! She is going to be missed dearly by the four of them. We know Mom was waiting for Cathy with a root beer float and that she is dancing a polka with Dad in a beautiful purple gown with a tiera.

Funeral Services for Cathy will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville, WI. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
