Curtiss Edwin Sommer, age 89, of the Town of Mukwa, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026.

Curtiss was born on June 15, 1936, in New London, Wisconsin, to the late Edwin and Adelia (Thompson) Sommer. He married Marilyn Schuh on August 1, 1959 in Iowa and they had three children. Curtiss was the town Barber for over 50 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and restoring old cars. He was a bluebird conservationist and built many bluebird houses. He was a member of the Fox Valleyaires Barbershop Chorus.

Curtiss is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; their children, Todd (special friend, Fran) Sommer, Wendy Sommer, and Jill (Brent) Walbrun; grandchildren, Krista, Brady, and Jake; his sister, Bonnie Kohl; his sister-in-law, Mary Sommer; and brother-in-law, Jerry (Joanne) Schuh. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Orin, Don, and infant brother, Ted; sisters-in-law, Lavonne Sommer, Phyllis (Wilmer) Kalbus, Audrey (Al) Metko, and Karen (Eddie) Worm; and brothers-in-law, Roger (Joyce) Schuh, and Lloyd Schuh.

The family would like to thank their family and friends for the care, compassion, and support over the years.

The Funeral Service for Curtiss will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London, Wisconsin, with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery.
