Darwin Young's Memorial Service Video

Darwin Steven Young, age 66 of Shiocton, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024 at his residence. Darwin was born on December 18, 1957 in New London to the late Abraham and Esther (Herminath) Young.  Darwin drove dump truck for Murphy's for many years.  Spending time with his kids and grandkids meant everything to him! He enjoyed farming and livestock. Riding his Harley was one of his favorite pastimes.  Darwin was a very social person, who loved meeting people. He would bring his family home many treasures from his scrapping adventures.

Darwin is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Young; grandchildren, Blake and Rose Young; special nephew and niece, Tom and Alexis Immel; his siblings, Sherry Freimuth, Jerry (Dede) Young, Carol Johnson, Verlee Freimuth, Janet (Evan) Ritchie, Margie Ort (significant other, Randy), Elaine (Rob) Robertson, Dan Young and Kathy (Elmer) Kaiser and also sister-in-law, Rita Young.

In addition to his parents, Darwin was preceded in death by his son, Shawn; brothers, Delton and Ron Young; brothers-in-law, Gene Freimuth, Roger Freimuth, Harry Johnson and Dave Ort and also sisters-in-law, Terry Young and Bernice Young.

The Memorial Service for Darwin will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Borchardt Moder Funeral Home in Shiocton with Rev. Michael Isbill officiating.  The visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.  Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery, Town of Bovina.

A memorial fund has been established to help with funeral expenses.
