David Lee Impleman Nelson, aged 74, died Thursday, August 20, 2026 peacefully at his home in Northport, WI.

Dave was born on March 27, 1952 to Marise Impleman. He was raised by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Nelson in the Manawa area, graduating from Little Wolf High School in 1970.

Dave owned his own business Black & White Casting; vending many festivals in the area selling his hand-crafted unique trinkets and goodies. He also delivered The Post Crescent paper for 37 years.

Before owning his business, he had a passion of making furniture and stained-glass creations. He was resourceful and independent, making his own kitchen cabinets and digging out his basement by hand.

In his early years, he traveled the American Southwest but mostly stayed local in his home state frequenting campgrounds, festivals and motorcycle rallies.

Another past time of Dave’s was riding his ‘82 Harley Davidson motorcycle on the country roads and exploring new spots and befriending strangers along the way.

A more recent hobby was making walking sticks and leaving them in various spots around the area – just in case anyone needed one. He enjoyed nature; tending to his yard and garden meticulously.

Dave is survived by his son, Mark (Louisa) van Zeeland. He is further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and his beloved dog, Era.

He is proceeded in death by his mom; sisters: Karen Roloff, Victoria Riley, Susan Lehman, Kathleen Sweedy and Amy Stillman; brothers: Michael Stillman and Paul Stillman; beloved dogs: Jake and Little Guy.

A celebration of life will be held at Union Still Bar & Grill in Manawa on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 1pm-3pm.

A special thank you to Patti and Jeff Van Ark, Danny Paters and Ashley Bosquez for all their help in the final months of caring for Dave.
