David Kusserow, age 77 of New London passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones.  David was born on September 7, 1947 in New London to the late Elmer and Marie (Tech) Kusserow.  David grew up in New London on the family farm.  While attending New London High School, he met the love of his life, Judith Bradley.  David served his country in the US Army in Vietnam.  After returning home, he took over his dad's cattle route.  David and Judy were married on November 9, 1968 at Emanuel Lutheran in New London.  They started their family in New London before moving to Alaska in 1978.  They spent over 45 years there.  During his time in Alaska, he raised his family, worked as a heavy equipment operator for 30 years and went on countless adventures.  David loved being outdoors.  He built his own cabin in Alaska and loved spending time there with his grandkids.  David loved to snowmobile, camp and ride 4-wheeler.  He was very active at Peace Lutheran Church in Alaska; where he volunteered on church council, the choir and grounds maintenance – even plowing snow. David also enjoyed spending time with other military vets at the local VFW.  The people of the church and the VFW were like family to him.  In Wisconsin, David enjoyed spending time with Judy and his family out at his land (& bus) having campfires, splitting wood, watching deer , birds and cranes and listening to owls.

David is survived by his children, Rebecca (Michael) Gryboski and Brenda Joyner; grandchildren, Mary, Holly, Trinity, Natalie, Thomas, Nicholas, Jasmine and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Elee and siblings, Leon (Dottie) Kusserow and Jerry (Nola) Kusserow.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Judith; his brother, Roger and grandson, Sean.

The family is currently planning the funeral service.  Please check back for further details.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff at ThedaCare Hospice, Pastor Heiges and all the family and friends that reached out and visited dad.
