Debra Jean (Reischl) Franzke of New London, WI passed away on April 26th 2026 at her home in New London, WI.
Debra was born in Oshkosh WI on May 3, 1953 to Norbert G. Reischl Sr. of Oshkosh and Shirley E. (Colburn-Reischl) Lappen of New London. Debra met the Love of her life, Richard Franzke in 1992 and they were married. Debra and Rick enjoyed spending as much time together as they could whether it was working in construction, managing and maintenance of apartment complexes, playing Yahtzee or cribbage, shopping or just taking a drive, it was rare that anyone saw them apart. They spoiled and doted over each other until his passing in September of 2020.
As a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she always looked forward to visiting with her children and grand-children, and especially time spent one-on-one with great grandson Raiden. Debra was a huge fan of sci-fi and thriller movies and had an enormous collection. Yet on the softer side she enjoyed the music of Conductor and violinist André Rieu and his orchestra. Debra loved the idea of crafting and always had many projects in the making at one time. Anything that caught her eye was a potential project, from crocheting, needlepoint and DIY Dollar Store crafts to baking and applying her very “Green Thumb” to every plant clipping should could find. Debra was also adamant about having a “Family Reunion Picnic” every summer in effort to keep the family tradition going as it was important to her to keep family close. No matter who reluctantly “got” volunteered to organize the next one, Debra was always involved in steering it and never missed a one.
Debra will be greatly missed and is survived by her 2 children, son Walter Winters and daughter Tammy (Chad Blair) Winters; several grand and great grandchildren. Also survived by 6 Brothers: Steven Reischl, Norbert (Kathy) Reischl, David Reischl, Patrick Reischl, Toby (Kelly) Reischl, and Jaye (Melissa) Lappen, and 5 Sisters: Susan (Frederick) Stermer, Dawn (Arthur) Ruedinger, Ginna (Brian) Kubinski, Reane Hooper, Kim Reischl, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents and three younger brothers: Paul T. Reischl, Jeffrey K. Reischl and John W. Lappen.
It is Debra’s desire to be cremated and her ashes kept with her husband. There will be a private Family Picnic Celebration of Life at a family home at a later time.
