Obituary

Debra J. Schetter, age 73 of Green Bay, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Bellin Hospital.  Debra was born on July 16, 1952 in New London to the late Lawrence and Elaine (Bricco) Schetter.  She was born with cerebral palsy and lived at home until she was able to attend Plamann School in Appleton.  Debra stayed with the Smarzinski family and later with the Hoppes.  She returned home on the weekends and at the age of 18, she moved to Green Bay to attend a sheltered workshop and resided at few group homes over the years.  In time, she retired and moved to the Curative Activity Center, where she continued until recent illness caused her to leave. Debra loved 60's music and old T.V. shows.  She was a social butterfly and had a wonderful sense of curiosity.  For a time, Debra enjoyed collecting mugs. She also loved having her hair colored – presently purple!

Debra is survived by her brother, David "Jeff" Schetter and aunts, Betty Gruentzel and Margie Bricco, as well as numerous cousins and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her brother, Michael.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London.  Burial will be at Most Precious Blood Cemetery

In lieu of plants and flowers, monetary expressions of sympathy will be directed to a memorial being established in Debra's honor.
