Dolores Juanita (Larsen) Simmons, age 93, of Appleton, formerly of Manawa, went to be with her Savior on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Brewster Village in Appleton.  Dolores was born on November 8, 1929 in Harlan, Iowa, daughter of Blanche and Thomas Larsen.  She married Elrid "Tim" Simmons on June 20, 1950 in Blue Earth, Minnesota.  She was a mother of five children and she ran the Simmons Rest Motel in Manawa for 20 plus years.  Dolores was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Waupaca.  She loved counted cross stitch and crocheting, which she gifted to many family and friends.

Dolores is survived by her children, Cindy (Mike) Ehmen, Deb Miyazato, Tim (Tina) Simmons and David Simmons; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and her grand dog, Sparky.  She is further survived by her brother, Tom Larsen and sister-in-law, Evelyn Larsen, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elrid "Tim"; daughter, Pam Fitzgerald; son-in-law, Don Fitzgerald; sister, Jo Ann Johnson; grandson, Timmy Simmons and great-grandson, Remington Simmons.

A private family interment at Spencer Lake Cemetery will be held.
