Donald F. Hammond Jr., age 63 of New London passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 in Appleton.  Donald was born in Milwaukee on September 11, 1960 to Donald and Nancy (Bowman) Hammond Sr.  He was very active in the Special Olympics his entire life.  Don loved his family, friends and the family pets.  He had a special admiration for the fire and police departments.  Putting puzzles together filled his spare time and he had a love for chocolate.  To put it very simply, Don loved life!

Donald is survived by his mother, Nancy; siblings, Karen (Steve) Ehlke, Mike, Dan (Sommer) and Bill (Amy) Hammond and the family dog, Honey and the cat, Dolly.  He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his father, Donald Hammond Sr. and his grandparents.

The family wishes to thank the Community Care Nurses, especially Jen and Meg, his volunteer drivers to dialysis, his dialysis team, his entire care team throughout his life and all of his lifelong friends.
