Donald Huse's Funeral Service Video
Donald Lee Huse, age 84 of Shiocton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2022. Don was born in Shiocton on December 4, 1937 to the late Floyd and Arlene (Herminath) Huse, attended Shiocton Schools and graduated from Shiocton High School. He married Irene (Reese) Dey on April 4, 1981. Don was a life-long member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shiocton. He served his country in the US Army. For most of his working life, Don happily labored 44 years at the Shiocton Kraut/Bush's Best Companies. Aside from his full-time work, Don was an interior painter. He was able to paint an entire room, without getting a drop of paint in the wrong place. Don enjoyed the outdoors. He and his brothers had many good times fishing and hunting. Don also loved to travel the western United States. Don married Irene late in life. He was a good father and grandfather to his "adopted family". Don will be truly missed by all who loved him.
Don is survived by his step-children, Thomas Dey, Mary (John) Schmidt and Lynn (Grant) Collar; step-grandchildren, Jennifer (Ben) Bast, Emily (Jose') Lorenzana, Scott (Riann) Collar, Ashley (Nick) Landskron and Evan (Mallory) Schmidt; thirteen step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Jim (Judy) Huse, Sandra Riehl and Sherry (Richard) Miesenhelder and sister-in-law, Sandra Huse. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack and Steve Huse; brother-in-law, Duane Riehl and sisters-in-law, Arlene, Alice and Carol Huse.
The Funeral Service for Don will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shiocton with Rev. Paul Hinz officiating. The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Burial will be in Bovina Cemetery, Town of Bovina.
Don's family wishes to thank the staff at Dimensions Living and Aseracare Hospice for their compassionate care, especially hospice nurse, Kayla.
Irene thanks friends and neighbors for all their help during this difficult time.
