Donald Michael Polcyn, 84, of Waupaca, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at ThedaCare of Appleton. Don was born in Green Lake County on August 18, 1940 to the late Michael and Matilda (Bartel) Polcyn. He graduated from Ripon High School. Don married Cynthia Lynn Shepardson on September 10, 1988.

In the 1970's, Don worked at Piggly Wiggly in New London, starting out as a Packer and then as Manager, followed by Department Head of the Appleton Piggly. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting vintage cars and tractors. He was also a former member of the New London Volunteer Fire Department.

Don had a kind and loving personality with an inviting smile; one of those smiles that make you smile back. He loved to tell jokes and would have everyone around him laughing along. Sometimes he would hide things in the house but then couldn't find them. At those times the joke was on him! Don will be missed by so many who loved him and nobody will ever be able to fill his size 18 shoes.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Cindy, of 36 years; his children, DuWayne "Duke" (Laura) Polcyn, Douglas (Wendy) Polcyn, Pamela (Ken) Mack, Peter Polcyn, Stanley Polcyn; his step children, Shannon (Anna) Knapp, Scott (Kristin) Knapp, Kristopher (Natasha) Knapp; grandchildren, Daniel (Jessica) Polcyn, Jason (Katie) Polcyn, Casey (Rachel) Polcyn, Gabriel Polcyn (special friend Jennifer) Caroline Levitt, Faith Levitt, Ronia Levitt; step grandchildren, Dalton Knapp, Heather (Justin) Spulak, Tanner Knapp, Chase Knapp, Kayden Knapp, Casey Knapp, Travis Knapp, Timothy Knapp, Chay Knapp, Tyler Knapp, Lily Knapp, Joshua Knapp, Jaide Knapp; great-grandchildren, Finn and Kieran; step great-grandchildren, Skylar and Levi; his brother, Kenneth (Rita) Polcyn; nephews, nieces, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Matilda; his sister, Lorraine Disterhaft; and his grandson Simon.

Don's loved ones would like to thank Faith Community Church and Rev. Josh Nelson, who have become their extended family over the years; Debbie "Sista" and  Lisa Katona, for their friendship and support; and most of all, to his wife, Cindy, for loving him so unconditionally and caring for him all the rest of his days.

The Funeral Service for Don will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Faith Community Church, N2541 County Road K, Waupaca, Wisconsin, with Rev. Josh Nelson officiating. The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bear Creek.
