Donna Main's Memorial Service Video

Donna Mae Main, age 92 of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Brewster Village in Appleton.  Donna was born on April 15, 1932 in New London to the late Karl and Avis (Curtis) Pasch. Donna was baptized on May 22, 1932 and confirmed into her faith on March 25, 1945.  She married Donald Main on November 10, 1951 in New London. Donna worked as the town clerk for the Town of Liberty for several years, assisting with elections, as well as belonging to a government accounting program that evaluated farms for loans. Donna also did homecare hospice work. Donna's family will fondly remember her for being the best cook and baker!  The kids would come home from school to a fresh, warm slice of bread with butter, before going to the barn to do their chores.  She lovingly made homemade donuts and ice cream with her grandchildren and those memories will last forever.  Donna was also well known for her delicious fruit filled Kolaczki.  She was a talented seamstress, having made her own wedding dress, her children's clothes growing up, prom dresses and a bridesmaid dress. To provide for her family, Donna would can anything that Don would bring home – from bushels of cucumbers and tomatoes to venison and buckets full of fish!  After a hard days work, Donna could be found relaxing in her chair crocheting and knitting.  She always loved spending time with the kids – raising many generations on the farm.  Donna would always have a listening ear for whoever needed it.  She was involved in all aspects of the farm – from milking and driving the tractor, to making meals for the whole crew.  Her faith was very strong and she was not afraid to bring the Gospel of Jesus to anyone, including the villagers and staff members at Brewster Village.  Donna believed in the power of prayer and started a "prayer chain", as well as teaching Sunday school for 30 years.

Donna is survived by her children, Donald (Cheryl) Main, Julie (Gerald) Bestul and Chris (Ed) Alexander; grandchildren, Jacob Main, Angela (Chuck) Reetz, Amanda (Steve) Gardynik and Clay (Nikki) Alexander; great-grandchildren, Ethan (Kyria), Mira, Jaidyn, Talon,  Zoe, Dillon,  Harrison, Rylee and Ellie; great-great-grandchild, Kane; sister, Judy (Carl) Zimmer; brother-in-law, Gene Main and sisters-in-law, Linda Surprise, June Pasch and Sally Piechocki.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; daughters, Kate Bruehl and Amy Main; grandson, Justin and brother, Karl Pasch.

The Memorial Service for Donna will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stephensville.  The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery, New London.
