Duane "Dewey" Ritchie, age 53, of Shiocton, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly, on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. Duane was born in New London on February 1, 1970, one of ten children, to the late Nathan and Betty (Burns) Ritchie. For many years, Duane drove truck for Shiocton Lumber, but he was most recently employed at AGA Sod Farm in Shiocton. In his free time, Duane loved spending time with his brothers, watching the Packer games and going on road trips to anywhere.
Duane is survived by his siblings, Doug Ritchie, Diane (John) Carpenter, Sharon (Bob) Henry, Brian Ritchie, Bruce Ritchie, Christine Dennee, Carrie (Dean) Bedor, and Tom (Virginia) Ritchie. He is further survived by nieces and nephews, Tammy, Tina, Tanya, John, Britney, Ashley, Alyssa Michael, Christopher; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Betty; his brother, David; sister in-law, Linda Ritchie, and brother in-law, Michael Dennee.
The Ritchie family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Travis Lyons who stayed with Duane until the emergency responders arrived so that he wasn't alone.
The Funeral Service for Duane will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Shiocton with Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Duane will be laid to rest, in a private burial, near his mom and dad, in the St. Dennis Cemetery.
