Ellen Reinert's Funeral Service Video

Ellen M. (Schweitzer) Reinert, age 90 of New London passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at ThedaCare in New London.  Ellen was born on May 2, 1934 to the late Charles ad Mabel (Rader) Schweitzer.  She was united in marriage to Harlow C. Reinert on June 27, 1953.  He preceded her in death in 2021.  Ellen was a long time employee at Hillshire Farms, as well as lifelong member at Emanuel Lutheran Church. She loved her flowers and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ellen is survived by her son, Gerald (Lori) Reinert; daughter, Deborah (Daniel) Flease; grandchildren, Jessica Flease, Danielle (Chris) Berns, Tara (Tim) Stiteley, Dustin (Kristin) Reinert and Jason (Amanda) Flease and great-grandchildren, June Flease, Ethan Stiteley, Alaina Stiteley, Owen Berns, Grayson Reinert, Harper Flease and Henry Reinert. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Sandy Schweitzer, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille (Alfred) Strauss, Jeanette (Jim) Oashger and Ruth (Leroy) Peterson; her brothers, Harold (Rita) Schweitzer and Frank Schweitzer and sister and brother-in-law, Rojean and Pete DeWitt.

The Funeral Service for Ellen will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. Seth Dorn.  The visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Burial will be at New Maple Creek Cemetery, Town of Maple Creek.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at ThedaCare New London for the tender care, support and gentle care given to Ellen.  Special thanks to Liz Slusser for being with the family during a difficult time.
