The family of Erika Maureen Sakowski of New London, Wisconsin is saddened to announce her unexpected passing due to heart complications, on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at the young age of 47.

Erika was born in New London on August 22, 1977 to David and the late Gail (Harris) Koch. She married Daniel Sakowski in 2001 at the United Methodist Church in New London.

Erika enjoyed helping people and was proud of her job as the Facilities Coordinator at ThedaCare. She loved to sing and her family loved to listen to her. In high school she was in show choir and sang solos. She was the best karaoke singer in town! Erika was a beautiful and talented young lady and she even competed in the Miss Appleton Pageant. She could make anyone laugh with her witty and sharp sense of humor. She wore her heart on her sleeve and loved all living things…except spiders. Erika's children were her greatest source of joy. She was so very proud of them and loved them more than words can say.

Erika will be greatly missed by her husband Daniel; her children, Lexia (Hunter) Swinton and Briant Sakowski; her father, David; sisters, Carrie (Patrick) Schwartz, Amanda Koch; father and mother-in-law, Brian and Nancy Sakowski; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eric (Emily) Sakowski; grandparents, Bob and Jean Siebers; nieces and nephews, Haille Magolski (god-daughter), Kailyn Magolski, Porter Magolski, Brielle Schwartz, Ariana Schwartz; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Erika was preceded in death by her mother, Gail; grandparents, Judy and George Koch, and Marvin and Geneva Harris.
