Francis Samson's Funeral Service Video

Francis P. Samson, age 79 of the Township of Bear Creek, passed away suddenly after a 20+ year battle with COPD on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.  Francis was born on September 22, 1944 in the Township of Bovina, to the late Franklin and Magadaline (Weber) Samson.  He worked for Simons and made baby furniture – he loved to build.  Francis was always willing to help anyone who needed it and loved to please people.  Many say he was the "life of the party".   He enjoyed eating, watching a good western movie, gambling and playing with the dogs.  He had the best sense of humor and got a kick out of playing practical jokes.  Francis was looking forward to turning 80 – he will be celebrating the best one in heaven.  He was thrilled to have met his great-grandchildren this past year.  A few of Francis' favorite things were tomatoes, bananas, chocolate and car rides.

Francis is survived by his children, Melvin, Patrick and Ronda (Todd); grandchildren, Ryan, Colton, Ashley, Amber and Patrick; nine great-grandchildren; his sisters, Ruthie, Pearl, Gerry, Judy and Dianne; his brother, Kenny (Pam) and brother-in-law, Donald.  He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Francis was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Jo; sisters, Rose (Evan), Blanche (Tom), Betty and a stillborn sister; brothers, Hugh, Eugene-Russel and Mike; brothers-in-law, Bruce, Bernie, Gary and Francis and sister-in-law, Judy.

Francis lived life to the fullest and had no regrets!

The Memorial Service for Francis will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London with Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating.  The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Clintonville.
