Surrounded by her loving family, Geraldine M. (Hanson) Janusheske was peacefully called home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at the age of 79, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
Geraldine was born March 20, 1947 in Appleton, Wisconsin to the late Lloyd and Ione (Brandt) Hanson. She was a graduate of Appleton West High School, following that she went on to work as a waitress at Continental Coffee Shop where she met the love of her life. On September 13, 1969, she married Thomas Janusheske, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton. Not long after their marriage they welcomed their son, James.
After her time waitressing, Geraldine spent time working at Sam’s Club. She was a proud Lionette and an active member at St. Patrick Church, where she assisted with the Stephensville Round-up. She had many hobbies; including going to Eagle River’s Cranberry Fest, attending swimming class with her friends, bowling, snowmobiling, and vacationing with her family and friends. Geraldine could not pass up the Friday Fish Fry at Kountry Bar, something she enjoyed. Many will remember her having lived with a heart of gold and a love for helping others.
Geraldine is survived by her son James “JJ” Janusheske, her grandchildren; Ethan, Ryanne, and Charlyee, siblings; Clyde (Cyndy) Hanson, Jacklynn (Doug) Kortbein, Dorla (Gregg) Johnson, Paula (John) Kies, and Sharon Hanson (Ron Saari). She is further survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Proceeding her in death is her husband Tom, parents; Lloyd and Ione, in-laws; Lawrence and Geraldine Janusheske, brother; Wayne Hanson, brother-in-laws; John Fiane and Jack Janusheske; and her niece; Jenny Janusheske.
The family would like to thank the staff at Silverstone Memory Care and Moments Hospice for their gentle, tender and loving care of Geraldine.
