Obituary

Gerilynn Burton Funeral Mass Video Gerilynn Ann Burton, age 62 of New London, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh, with her family by her side.  Gerilynn was born on August 26, 1962 in Japan to Gerald and Rochelle (Hohman) Schroeder.  She married Duane "Punky" Burton on July 27, 1985.

Gerilynn graduated from New London Senior High School in 1980, and went on to attend McConnell Airline School in Minneapolis. She worked as a Medical Claims Specialist for Guardian Life Insurance in Appleton for over 20 years. Gerilynn loved to travel and attend music festivals. She took great joy in cheering on and supporting her children and grandchildren at their sporting events, as well as spending time camping with her family and friends. She loved dancing with her husband, photography, Nascar races, and watching the Brewers, Badgers, Packers and Bucks.

Gerilynn is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Duane; her children, Amber Burton, Ashley Burton, Lucas Burton (fiancé, Shannon Arno); her mother, Rochelle Schroeder; grandchildren, Leiam Burton and Remington Naylor; her sister, Tanya Meyer (fiancé, Chris "Cricket" Peterson); brothers, Sheldon (Dawn) Schroeder and Erick (Marci) Schroeder; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald; and her grandson, Ashton.

Gerilynn's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the ICU Staff at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh for the special care and compassion she was given at a time when it meant the most.

The Funeral Mass for Gerilynn will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London, with Fr. Dave Hoffman as celebrant. There will be a visitation at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London on Thursday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and again at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A Memorial Fund has been established.
