Glenn William Janke passed away peacefully on Friday September 18, 2026, at the age of 90. Born August 11, 1936, to Carl and Irene (Curtis) Janke in New London, Wisconsin. Glenn graduated from New London High school and became a member of New London’s FFA Alumni. He was Chief of Maple Creek volunteers helping with Bear Creek and New London fire departments. Glenn was Town Chairman for Maple Creek for many years and was known to be a very skilled wood worker. He farmed his whole life, mainly dairy and could often be found on the farm even if you didn’t know quite where he was at any given moment. Glenn married the love of his life, Carol Paul on August 24, 1957, and together they enjoyed 69 years of marriage and had three wonderful sons together.
Glenn is survived by his wife Carol, their sons Steven (Marcia) Janke, and Michael (friend Sue) Janke; daughter-in-law Susan Janke; grandchildren Gary (friend Kasey) Janke, Tara (Jared) Zwiers, Adam (Ashley) Janke, Derek Janke, Zach (Tamara) Janke, Hannah (Andrew) Ralston; Step-grandchild Robert Tesch; great grandchildren Tanner Janke, Isabelle Eckhart, Ryker Janke, Jackson Pockat, Gavin Pockat, Aiden Zwiers, Brandon Tesch, Caden Tesch, Bree Janke, Kendal Fabisiak, Aurora Janke, Rya Janke, Wyatt Ralston, Payton Ralston; “Adopted” grandchildren Levi and Carolyn DeBruin.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Carl and Irene, and his son Lyle Janke.
The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday October 4 at 2:00 P.M. at Grace Lutheran in Sugar Bush, Wisconsin with a visitation starting at 12:00 until time of service. His final resting place will be at the New Maple Creek Cemetery at a later date.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at ARC Angels and ThedaCare Hospice, as well as all the hospital staff and nurses who helped Glenn for the care they gave him. Additional special thanks to Pastor John Ehlers for his care and support.
