Heidi's Funeral Service Video

Heidi Glynne Wagner was called home to Heaven on July 27, 2025 after a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.  She was surrounded by her loving family.

Heidi was born in Madison on October 31, 1975, daughter of Eldon and Sandy Zimmerman. She had a very busy childhood playing basketball, volleyball, softball, and marching with the trumpet section in the Oregon High School band.  She and her sister Dawn enjoyed playing in the back field with the cows, putting on plays, swimming, go-karting, and playing indoor hockey with a rolled-up sock.

Heidi graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point with a degree in Accounting.  She married her college sweetheart Jeremy Wagner on a beautiful spring day in 2001 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba, Michigan.  They spent their first few years of wedded bliss in Upper Michigan, where they shared their love of the great outdoors and all animals (except for birds).  They loved canoeing, camping, and fishing, as long as Heidi didn't have to touch the worms.  During this time Heidi commuted to Iron Mountain every day where she was working as an accountant at Dickinson County Hospital.

Heidi enjoyed her 'lady shopping trips' with her mother, sister, aunt, and cousins, and always looked forward to the annual fishing trip with the rest of her extended family.  She also enjoyed scrapbooking with her sisters-in-law, quilting, making lefse, reading, and baking.

Heidi and Jeremy moved to Hortonville, Wisconsin in 2005, where they began building their family of five.  Heidi worked as an accountant at Secura Insurance in Appleton from 2005 until she resigned in 2017.  She was fiercely devoted to her children and made sure they could take advantage of every opportunity available to pursue their dreams.  Even as her disability progressed, all her energy went into making the house beautiful and keeping the kids organized.  She never stopped encouraging, supporting, and loving her family.

Although our time with Heidi was not as long as we'd hoped, all that knew her, spent time with her, and loved her will forever be better for it.  Those who knew Heidi will remember her kindness, her strength, and her sense of humor.  She always had the perfect movie quote to ease any awkward situation.  Heidi enjoyed hosting friends and family at her house and was famous for her pickle recipes, the best grape salads, and her amazing brandy slush.  Heidi will also forever be remembered as a fighter who never complained and always put everyone else's needs before her own.

Heidi is survived by her loving husband Jeremy, her children Natalie (18), Nathan (16), and Isaac (14), her sister Dawn (Barry) Schoenike, and her parents Eldon and Sandy Zimmerman.
