Ione's Funeral Service Video

Ione Ziegler, age 87, of Hortonville, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. Ione was born December 16, 1935 in the Town of Harrison in Calumet County, WI, the older of two children of Frederick and Dorothy (Schuelke) Wismer. Ione attended Bethlehem Lutheran School in Hortonville, as well as Hortonville High School, graduating with the class of 1953. On October 1, 1955, Ione married Lloyd W. Ziegler at Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church in Hortonville.

Ione made her life all about her family. She was mother and homemaker and she assisted her husband with their businesses. Ione was an active and faithful member of Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church in Hortonville. She was a member of Hortonville Lionettes and Hortonville Polar Bear Riders. Ione's faith was her guiding force. Her faith sustained her and she taught the lessons she learned to her children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish Ione's memory is her family, Dan (Sue) Ziegler, Mark (Jayne) Ziegler, Paul (Yvonne) Ziegler, Todd (Jody) Ziegler, 12 grandchildren, as well as 23 great-grandchildren. Ione is also survived by her sister, Marlene (Don) Flunker; sisters-in law, Beth Ziegler, Mony Schroeder and Lois Wohlrabe, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Ione was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd W. Ziegler and her parents.

The Funeral service for Ione will be at 11:00am on Friday, March 31st at Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church, 752 E. Grand View Rd, in Hortonville, with Rev. Kevin Westra officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 3:00-7:00pm and again at the church on Friday from 9:00am until time of service.
