Irene Jarvais' Funeral Service Video

Irene Jarvais, age 87, Bear Creek passed away at Edenbrook in Appleton on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.  She was born on December 27, 1934 in the Town of Red Springs (Shawano Cty), daughter of the late William and Alma (Otto) Schmidt.  Irene attended Roosevelt Grade School and Gresham High School graduating in 1952 as valedictorian.  She worked at Badger Breeders in Shawano until she was married.  On May 11, 1955, Irene was united in marriage to Gerald Jarvais at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano.  He preceded her in death in 1992.  Irene and Gerald lived on the home farm in the Bear Creek area most of their lives.  They were Green Bay Packers fans and longtime season ticket holder.  Irene enjoyed camping with Gerald and reading.

Irene is survived by her son Gregory Jarvais, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters, Margaret (Edwin) Ready, and Bernice (Roy) Zahn, 2 brothers, Milton (Laura) Schmidt and Sylvester (Ruby) Schmidt, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Irene will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Most Precious Blood Cemetery, New London.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at ThedaCare Hospital in Neenah and the staff at Edenbrook for Irene's care.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Irene's name may be given to a charity of your choice.
