Jack Algiers Funeral Service Video
Jack Vernon Algiers, age 95 of New London, Passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Central Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King. Jack was born on April 2, 1930 in New London to the late Lance and Mildred (Dalley) Algiers. He served our country in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne in the Korean War. Jack married Arline Prochnow on September 26, 1953. She preceded him in death 2013. Jack served as Police Chief for the City of New London from 1960 until his retirement in 1987. During those years, he served as a law enforcement officer for 34 years and a patrolman for the City of New London for 5 years. Jack was the Waupaca County Board Supervisor for 16 years and served as the Undersheriff for Waupaca County for 1 ½ years. Jack enjoyed throwing horseshoes and participated in numerous tournaments.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Cynthia (Ron) Baehman; daughter-in-law, Carol Algiers; brother, Ted (Gail) Algiers; sister, Kathy Waushesock; grandchildren, Amy (Tyson) Ciepluch, Scott (Tabitha) Emenecker, Amber Towery, Andrea (Hiroyuki) Algiers-Shibata and Eric Algiers and great-grandchildren, Ethen and Jack Emenecker, Mabel and Frank Ciepluch, Mirai and Benjiro Shibata, Leah and Trent Gastonguay, Gabe Van De Hey and Addison Towery.
In addition to his parents and wife, Jack was preceded in death by his son, Scott Algiers; daughter, Rebecca Stevens; son-in-law, Scott Stevens; brother, Edgar Algiers and brother-in-law, Dale Waushesock.
The Funeral Service for Jack will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. Seth Dorn officiating. The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Floral Hill Cemetery, where full military honors will be held.
