Jack Babcock's Funeral Service Video Jack Ray Babcock, age 95, has gone fishing forever on Sunday, April 24, 2022. He was surrounded by family to watch over him during this last journey. He was born on March 31, 1927, son of the late William and Vivian (Buttolph) Babcock. Before graduating from New London Washington High School he entered the U. S. Navy, during the WWII era finishing his senior year and graduating after his service to our country. Jack was a hard worker his entire life – both at his job and as a fisherman. He loved every day and let it show. Jack was employed at New London Engineering as a fabricator for many years. He then worked in highway construction for many years, finally retiring from Poppy Plumbing. He especially loved time spent with his grandchildren. For 95 years he enjoyed an uncomplicated life and lived it as he wanted. Jack was a quiet humble man who was fortunate to have many family and friends to care for throughout his life, and in return to be there when he needed them, and to remind him why we are here. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast owning several motorcycles throughout his lifetime. He built his own 3-wheeler out of a VW Bug engine and it is still in the family to this day.
Jack is survived by his children: Jerry Babcock, daughter-in-law Sue (Ricky) Babcock, Teresa (Richard) Lassen, Tammy (Lee) McFaul, and Tracy (Tony) Scrivens.
Grandchildren: Missy (Brian) Kempen, Jenny (Kevin) Meyer, Andrea (Tommy) McFaul, Heather (Trapper) Danke, Sarah (Kevin) Guyette, Teresa (John) Hardy, Melanie Scrivens, Eric Scrivens.
Great-Grandchildren: Samual (Jodi) Spruce, Trevor Spruce, Benjamin Meyer, Olivia Meyer, Griffin Danke, Tyler Rusin, Miranda Rusin, Kaitlynn Guyette, Kennedy Guyette, and Great-Great-Granddaughter Scarlett Spruce.
He was preceded in death by Esther Babcock, parents William and Vivian Babcock, son Eric Babcock, sisters and brothers in law Alice (Teddy) Wilson and Mavis (Robert) Willes; and son-in-law Tony Scrivens.
Happy Trails to You Dad….Grandpa….Friend. You'll be forever in our hearts!
