Jacob “Jake” Bolssen tragically passed away in a work accident on Monday, August 17, 2026 at the age of 26.

Jake was born on November 5, 1999 to Tim and Krista (Ritchie) Bolssen in Appleton, Wisconsin. He graduated from Shiocton High School in 2018. He married Nicole (Zimmerman) on March 17, 2023.

Jake was an amazing daddy to his two beautiful children, a loving husband, and a wonderful son and brother. He will be truly missed.

His hobbies were hanging with friends, family, riding his motorycle, and working on project trucks.

Jake leaves behind so many people who loved him; his loving wife, Nicole, and their children, Taylor (3) and Michael (1); his parents, Tim and Krista Bolssen; his sister, Emily Bolssen; grandparents, Bob and Sally Ritchie; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins; along with his parents-in-law, Drew and Cindy Zimmerman; sister-in-law, Melissa (Steven) Jacobs; niece, Kaylee; nephew, Andrew; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gordon and Dawn Bolssen; and his maternal great-grandparents, Don and Bonita Beyer.

The Funeral Service for Jake will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home, N5645 State Rd 76, in Shiocton, Wisconsin, and officiated by Pastor Bradley Ragner from Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shiocton. Friends and Family will gather at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Ellington Town Hall from noon until 2:00 p.m.

Jake will be laid to rest at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Riverside Cemetery, 714 N. Owaissa Street, in Appleton.
