James L. Lambert, age 95, New London, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, May 27, 2022. Jim was born on June 30, 1926, in the city of Manitowoc (Manitowoc County), son of the late Ranie and Mamie (Lang) Lambert. On August 13, 1975, he married Carol Christiansen Haupt. Upon retirement, Jim and Carol relocated to New London where they enjoyed 39 years of life together on the river.

Jim enlisted in the Air Forces of the U.S. Army and served from 1944 to 1946 with the 316 th Bomb Wing with the occupation forces on Okinawa. After his military service, he worked as a superintendent for Bahr Construction Company in Manitowoc for over 40 years. He also worked as a contracted consultant with McMahon Engineering and New London Utilities on numerous construction projects in New London and the surrounding area during his retirement. He was an active member of the VFW for many years, serving on the board in the 1990s. Jim was a talented self-proclaimed jack of all trades with skills ranging from plumbing to electrical wiring and construction. He generously gave of his time and talents to help family and friends with many projects. He was a lover of his Green Bay Packers and an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He could identify any tree in the woods and later in life enjoyed feeding and watching the birds.

He is survived by his children: Susan (Todd) Kopstad; Jim (Pam) Lambert; Nancy Lambert; Peter Lambert; Paul (Laurie) Lambert and Mary (Mark) Poncin. Stepchildren: Cheri (Barry) Sweeney; Jayme (Danielle) Haupt and Crystal (Bart) Barrington. Grandchildren: Katy Kopstad, Derek Lambert, Kirk (Vanesa) Lambert, Kari Lambert, Bria (Nick) Buroojy, Samantha (Jacob) Weller, Hollie Lambert, Meadow Lambert, Chelsea Poncin, Rochelle Poncin, Garrett Poncin and Mark Poncin. Step grandsons: Evan, Brett and Troy Sweeney, Jonathan and Cory Haupt, Reed, Wade and Cole Barrington. Great-grandchildren: Sebastian and Juliette Lambert, Siri, William and Jack Pemberton, Taylor Poncin. Jim is further survived by his brother Tom Lambert and sister Helen (Dale) Zagrodnik, daughter-in-law Su Lambert, a niece, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carol, parents, two infant siblings Ranie Lambert and Deloris Lambert, sisters-in-law Theresa Lambert, Joan (Bob) Kadow, Bonnie (Leonard) Yindra, and brother-in-law Gary (Judy) Christiansen.

Funeral services for Jim will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London with Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to the time of service.
