James Burns Funeral Service Video

James "JB" Michael Burns, age 73 of New London, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Cherry Meadows.  Jim was born in New London to the late Allen and Lucille (Blank) Burns on August 15, 1951.  Jim ran track in high school.  Other hobbies included bowling, shooting darts, listening to bands and dancing.  Jim had a great love for dogs.  He worked at Simmons Juvenile Products for 30 years.  Jim greatly loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his significant other of 44 years, Judy Gurholt; sons, Michael Burns and Jason Gurholt (former daughter-in-law, Jamie Gurholt); grandchildren, Bailey, Breanna, Brett, Blake and Harlow Gurholt; great-grandchildren, Dior and Briella and his sisters-in-law, Annamae Burns and Kay Burns.  He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, Allen Burns Jr., Robert Burns, Betty Ritchie and Phyllis Blumkee.

The Funeral Service for Jim will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London.  The visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
