Obituary

James (Cecil) Puls, age 77, of Shiocton, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. Jim was born at home on Puls Road in Shiocton, on October 20, 1946, to the late Roy and Edna (Kuse) Puls, in the Town of Bovina.

Jim was active in the community and was a member of several organizations, such as Shadows on the Wolf, Shiocton Lion's Club, Shiocton Business League, and Shiocton Sportsman Club, where he organized and hosted the Sportsman Banquet for 25 years. He worked at Shiocton Lumber for most of his life, and recently for JA Eisch Cabinetry in Freedom,  but his true joy was driving BIG tractors for J&J Spreading in Shiocton. Jim also enjoyed playing Santa in the community, and in the homes of friends, for many decades. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, golfing and playing cards, but he was happiest when he was out in the fields, or spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchild.

Jim is survived by his son, Jonathan (Tracy) Puls and his daughter, Jill (Gary) Meyers; his grandchildren, Cierra (Nate), McKenna, Claudia, and Maxwell; great grandson, Nash; and sister in-law, Cathy Puls. He is further survived by nephews, cousins and many close friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Edna; his brother, Jerry Puls, and two infant sisters.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Elizabeth's hospital, and the staff of Compassus Hospice, for the wonderful care and compassion given to Jim.

A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held from 1-4 p.m on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Romy's in Black Creek, Wisconsin. Jim will be laid to rest at a later date at Town of Bovina Cemetery, Shiocton.

"You will be missed!"
