Janice Ann
Vaughan
April 25, 1936 – April 11, 2025
Janice Ann (Smith) Vaughan, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her children on Friday, April 11, 2025 just 14 days before her 89th birthday. Janice was born on April 25, 1936 in Appleton to the late Herbert O. and Alice H. (Janssen) Smith. After graduating from Appleton West High School, marriage moved her to the Readfield/New London area. She remained in the area to raise her children and never remarried. She moved back to Neenah for several years while working at Plexus Corp. as an Inventory Control Specialist. Upon retirement from Plexus, she moved back to New London to be closer to her children. Janice enjoyed walking, baking, reading, puzzles and games. Her greatest enjoyment came from having her whole family together for the holidays (where some pretty wicked Sheepshead card games took place). That was very special to her!
Janice is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Jon) Vander Heyden and their son, Kaleb; her son, Tim (special friend, Michele) and his two daughters, Dana and Shayla and her son, Tom (Lori).
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by an older brother, Charles, in infancy; a younger brother, Al and a younger sister, Judy, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
A Graveside Service for Janice will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at St. Joseph Cemetery in Appleton.
Thank you to Dr. Timothy Houlihan for providing care to your most challenging patient, Compassus Hospice nurses for providing care and comfort in Mom's last weeks and Cline & Hanson Funeral Home for assisting the family.
