Jean A. Kovacic, age 76, passed away on Sunday, June 16 in St. Paul, MN with her loving family by her side. Jean was born on March 25, 1948 in the Town of Ellington, WI, daughter of the late Harold and Celestine (Tennie) Urban. She was united in marriage to Steve Kovacic on September 6, 2000 in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

In her twenties, Jean was a hairstylist and then transitioned to working in early childcare for many years. Most recently, along with her husband Steve, they owned and operated The Stone Cutter Deli in Montello, WI until retirement. In Montello, she worshiped at the Marquette Community Church, enjoyed participating in the Red Hat Society, volunteered at the senior center, and was a member of the local TOPS group.

Jean was a hobbyist of many things: gardening, birdwatching, sewing blankets for her grandchildren, thrifting, watching history shows, and reading, especially her Bible. She deeply appreciated nature and saw beauty everywhere. Every person she met she showed genuine care for, wanting to learn their names and stories. Her humor, never-ending curiosity and sense of adventure was evident throughout her life and will continue through her family.

Jean is survived by her husband, Steve Kovacic; children, Chris (Linda) Gregory and Angela (Levi) Lindemann; grandchildren, Jessica Gregory (boyfriend, Teddy Scheckel), Garrison Gregory, Carson Gregory, Madison Villeneuve (boyfriend, Jorge Malon), Maya Villeneuve, Sierra Lindemann, Sadie Lindemann and great-grandchild, Angelina Malon. Jean is further survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen (Allan) Magolan, Sue (Thom) Larson, and Donna (Mark) Harding, along with her sister-in-law, Laura Kovacic.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Celestine Urban; Steve's parents, Elmer and Miriam Kovacic; and brother-in-law, Larry Kovacic.

The Memorial Service for Jean will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London, with Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiating. The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
