Jeff Nelson's Memorial Service Video

Jeff G. Nelson, age 56 of New London, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, as a result of an accident at home.  Jeff was born on February 11, 1966 in New London to the late Harry "Lavern" and Jeanette (Osterling) Nelson.  He was united in marriage to Amy Vander Zanden on December 15, 2000.  They were married for 21 years.  Jeff worked at Plach Automotive and has been a certified mechanic for more than 35 years.  He loved the outdoors.  His favorite things to do were hunting, fishing, and maintaining his garden.  Jeff was the ultimate perfectionist when it came to grilling and smoking and canning any type of meat or vegetables that he harvested.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and their five cats.  Jeff served his country in the US Army.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Amy; step-children, Donny (Autumn) Gerrits and Alex (Kristy) Gerrits; grandchildren, Teagon, Monroe, Tillie, and Charlette; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gina (Steve) VanderWielan, Gary (Rose) Vander Zanden, Karen (Lee) Reider, Dan (Chris) Vander Zanden, Jay Vander Zanden and John (Kathee) Vander Zanden. He is further survived by many good friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Nancy (Dale) Besaw and Judy (Clegg) Nelson and his sister-in-law, Jill (Vander Zanden) Wittman.

The Memorial Service for Jeff will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London, with Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiating. Full military honors will be held. The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  A reception will follow at River Rail in Shiocton.
